The Root Group has many years of experience in providing products and services to a variety of educational institutions. Our experience in the university environment extends from academic computing to administrative computing to research and teaching hospitals. These deployments have included large scale ERP infrastructure stand ups, server and storage virtualization, High Performance Computing and Grid architectures and campus-wide thin client / kiosk deployments. We also have experience in working with community college and K-12 institutions in areas such as network design and troubleshooting, layered security deployments, vulnerability assessments and desktop protection.

In many ways, The Root Group is uniquely positioned to help educational institutions. Our vendor relationships allow us to provide educational discounts and our sales and engineering staff is well versed in the unique needs of the educational environment. For example we offer a grant service to help our clients find funding sources from sources such as the 2009 stimulius dollars from the American Recovery and Investment Act. The Root Group also holds the Sun WSCA purchasing contract for Nevada # B27175.

As an added benefit to our education clients, each of our engineers have at some point in their careers been employed as internal IT staff at universities or colleges. They have an intimate understanding or your challenges and opportunities.
